The official CATS movie trailer just dropped and it is leaving people 'uncomfortable'
The very first official trailer for the movie adaptation of the hit musical CATS has been unveiled, and it sure is wild ...
The movie is set to take Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic musical to the big screen, with the help of a star-studded, including actors such as Idris Elba, Dame Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Rebel Wilson and James Corden, alongside musicians, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson and Jason Derulo.
Keeping true to the stage show, the movie features large sets and human style cats, however, their fur is entirely CGI.
The look left several viewers feeling "uncomfortable" with some wishing the movie makers had stayed away from the CGI animation.
"This movie looks kind of creepy I wish they would have used the makeup in the musical instead of this weird CGI thing," one person commented on the video’s YouTube page.
"This makes me feel really uncomfortable," another added.
"I love CATS the musical, but I’m genuinely scared for this movie," one CATS fan wrote.
Another reasoned: "If this were practical effects instead of CGI I would find it awesome, the CGI actually looks strange."
The film is being directed by Tom Hooper who is known for his work on Les Misérables, The Danish Girl and The King’s Speech.
CATS will hit cinemas in New Zealand December 26.
