It has become the most talked about moment of the 2019 Academy Awards ...

The undeniable chemistry that Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga shared onstage as they performed their emotional duet 'Shallow' for the first time on live TV caused a major frenzy worldwide.

After belting out their spinetingling Oscar-winning hit, the two A Star Is Born co-stars brought the crowd to their feet.

But what we didn't see was the SECOND standing ovation they received – which is something unheard of.

As Gaga and the 44-year-old actor returned to their seats during the commercial break, the entire audience stood up and gave the pair another roaring standing ovation!

Which was well-deserved, given how powerfully emotional their performance was.

Unseen photos from inside the Dolby Theatre following the performance also showed Cooper's partner Irina Shayk warmly embracing the duo.

Speaking to news.com.au's Andrew Bucklow after winning the Oscar for Best Original Song yesterday, Gaga revealed their direction for the performance.

"What Bradley said to me yesterday right before we did our last rehearsal for this performance of 'Shallow' … He said, 'Let's just drop a little bit of joy.' And I said, 'OK'."

And that's exactly what they did.
