HBO doco 'I Love You, Now Die' explores horrifying Michelle Carter text-suicide case

The story that made headlines around the world in 2017 has been turned into a two-part documentary series entitled I Love You, Now Die: The Commonwealth v. Michelle Carter. 

Michelle Carter was 17 years old when she encouraged her 18-year-old boyfriend Conrad Roy to end his life via a series of text messages in 2014. 

The texts exchanged between the teens have since been used as evidence in court, and led to Carter's involuntary manslaughter conviction in 2017.

Director of Mommy Dead and Dearest (The Gypsy Rose Case), Erin Lee Carr tells the story and raises difficult questions about technology, mental health, and whether or not one teenager can be held responsible for the suicide of another.

The title is scheduled to land on NEON from August 18.
