Handmaid's Tale's Elisabeth Moss stars in new thriller The Invisible Man and it looks terrifying

A trailer for yet another thriller has been released that is set to leave us absolutely sleepless.

Starring The Handmaid's Tale actress and Emmy-winner Elisabeth Moss, The Invisible Man, is a "terrifying modern tale of obsession" inspired by the character from H.G. Wells' novel The Invisible Man. The scary flick also stars Oliver Jackson-Cohen, who you may recognise from Netflix's The Haunting of Hill House.

"Trapped in a violent, controlling relationship with a wealthy and brilliant scientist, Cecilia Kass (Moss) escapes in the dead of night and disappears into hiding, aided by her sister (Harriet Dyer, NBC’s The InBetween), their childhood friend (Aldis Hodge, Straight Outta Compton) and his teenage daughter (Storm Reid, HBO’s Euphoria)," Universal describes the plot of the film.

"But when Cecilia’s abusive ex (Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House) commits suicide and leaves her a generous portion of his vast fortune, Cecilia suspects his death was a hoax. As a series of eerie coincidences turn lethal, threatening the lives of those she loves, Cecilia’s sanity begins to unravel as she desperately tries to prove that she is being hunted by someone nobody can see."

Directed, written and executive produced by Leigh Whannell - who is known for his work on the Saw franchise - the movie looks completely terrifying.

The Invisible Man hits New Zealand theatres February 27 2020.
