Woman goes viral with her tasty Hot Cross Bun Chips recipe for your air fryer
Easter is still a couple of weeks away, but we're already getting tempted by the hot cross buns hitting the shelves ...
And what better way to shake up the delicious treat than with air fryer hot cross bun chips?Â
Kitchen extraordinaire Elle Vernon has gone viral again after she shared her unique take on the Easter classic.Â
These crunchy little bites of heaven serve six people and only take 18 minutes to whip up!Â
Ingredients:Â
• 3 traditional fruit hot cross bunsÂ
• 50g butter, meltedÂ
• ½ tsp ground cinnamonÂ
• 2 Tbsp caster sugarÂ
• 1 Tbsp raw sugarÂ
• ¼ cup chocolate sauceÂ
Method:Â
1. Cut each bun in half widthways, then each half into 3 batons.Â
2. Place into a bowl and drizzle over half of the butter. Toss, drizzle over remaining butter and toss again.Â
3. Sprinkle cinnamon over the top, toss to coat.Â
4. Combine sugars on a dinner plate. In batches, press batons in the sugar mixture to coat on all sides.Â
5. Arrange batons in a single layer, in the basket of your air fryer.Â
6. Set temperature to 180°C and cook for eight minutes, or until chips are golden brown.Â
Serve hot, with chocolate sauce on the side to dip in as desired.Â
If you're after a healthier option, serve the chippies with vanilla-flavoured coconut yoghurt.Â
Or skip the dipping sauce completely, and enjoy them just as they are.Â
Delicious!Â
