Watch the stunning moment a woman almost jumps into the mouth of a shark
Get ready for your jaw to drop.
One woman has shared the closest of all calls after she almost jumped right into the mouth of a shark.
Sharing the astonishing moment on social media, freediver and conservationist Ocean Ramsey – who was shockingly completely unfazed – can be seen getting ready to jump into ocean, but before peeking into the water, backs up the boat’s ladder.
She can then be heard saying: "Hi Nikki" referring to the Tiger shark who surfaces from the water, mouth wide open.
"We love Tiger shark Queen Nikki’s enthusiasm to greet Ocean," the caption of the video – taken by Ocean’s husband Juan Oliphant – read.
“Ocean reading an approach quickly and accurately knowing when to respectfully back up,” the caption continued. “[She is] the safety diver [and] is always the first person in the water and the last person out and the one responsible for respectfully evaluating the shark's behaviour before inviting others into the water.
“Murky water and a lot of bird activity and the little opelu fish trying to hide from hunting kawa kawa under the boat made this day extra exciting with both fish and sharks practically jumping out of the water.”
“Glad I ended up turning on the Go Pro and my Canon camera before we got in so we have this moment to share and appreciate.
“Tiger shark Queen Nikki aka Ali’i Nikolé is one of our favourite sharks to see.”
In another video, Ocean shared more about her relationship with Nikki the Tiger shark.
"Sharks are not monsters, they are important apex predators who need to be protected," Ocean says in the clip.
All we can say is, wow!
