Newlyweds shock their guests with a graphic and gruesome severed head wedding cake

One couple decided to take the phrase 'til death do us part' to a bizarre level on their wedding day.

Rather than opting for a traditional white wedding cake, covered in flowers, the happy couple decided to serve up slices of something a little more shocking to their guests.

A wedding cake that depicted the new bride and groom’s severed heads.

That’s right … severed head wedding cake.

Created by Dave and Natalie of Sideserf Cake Studio in Texas, the horror-themed cake – which was originally made for their wedding day in 2013 – recently resurfaced online.

"Our severed head wedding cake from 2013! We were married a few days before Halloween in an Austin movie theatre. Dave has always been a horror movie fan and Natalie loves making cakes that reference special effects makeup." they shared alongside a series of snaps of the unusual wedding cake.

The couple proudly shared their terrifying creation – finished off with splashes of fake blood and a banner that read ‘Til death do us part’ – on Instagram.

It’s not the only gruesome cake this baking couple have made either.

They also shared a hand-sculpted bleeding heart cake, which featured strawberry sauce ‘blood’ on top of a white chocolate organ-shaped heart.

Mmmm … tasty …

And on a slightly less gross note, the Sideserf Cake Studio has also made stunning Bust cakes, depicting the bride and groom with their heads intact.
