Limited-edition Kiwi-made pinot noir infused gin is here just in time for Christmas
If you’re a fan of gin, but also love a cheeky pinot noir, then get ready to meet your dream collar.
Two iconic Kiwi brands Lighthouse Gin and wine-makers Mt Difficulty have joined forces to create a limited-edition pinot noir-infused gin - just in time for Christmas.
The new Lighthouse Mt Difficulty Barrel Aged Gin is handcrafted with Lighthouse’s signature nine botanicals and natural spring water filtered by the local Remutaka Ranges.Â
The gin is rested in Mt Difficulty barrels, retired from five years’ service to their iconic Central Otago Pinot Noir, resulting in a golden appearance with a light, citrus flavour and a hint of thyme and red berries - perfect for summer.Â
"We’ve been having a couple of drinks with our mates at Mt Difficulty and that got us to some experimentation," says Lighthouse Gin head distiller Rachel Hall.Â
Mt Difficulty’s Chief Winemaker, Greg Lane, sent Hall a couple of their finest French oak barrels, and the rest is exquisite history.
This will be one that gin fans and wine lovers alike will want to try out.
Lighthouse Mt Difficulty Barrel Aged Gin - which retails from RRP$90 - is available nationwide at Fine Wine Delivery, Glengarry, and selected Liquorland stores.
