Kiwi man Ben Mikha wins job of a lifetime for the Discovery Channel

There seems to be some high flying kiwis at the moment and it is making us proud of little old New Zealand! News has just broke that 25-year-old Ben Mikha is the chosen ONE out of TEN THOUSAND to be Discovery Channels new intern!

Hey guys, Kind of don't know where to start.. I'm still pretty speechless and lost for words. But in all honesty, full credit goes to everyone who has crossed paths with me the last 25 years, you guys have all helped shape me become the person I am. Also to those I haven't met but shared my posts and committed to voting for me the last 2 months, this is also dedicated to you all. A HUGE thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me achieve this dream, it's surreal and still hasn't fully sunken in. But, if anything, I hope this shows everyone who has followed my journey what is possible. I still remember sitting in the hotel room with two mates in Perth when I found out I made top 50 for Discovery Channel and now I'm here, still figuring out if this is for real or not lol. Regardless though, I hope my journey so far inspires you to pursue what ever it is that you dream about each day, because it's all definitely possible with a bit of self belief and hard work. Sorry I haven't replied to all your messages, it's been pretty overwhelming and I'm currently packing my bags getting ready for work 😂 But thank you all once again, Excited to say the least for what the next few months holds for me 🙏🏽 📸 : @toravel

His flights and four-star accomodation will be paid for to Singapore, London, Iceland, New York and Italy.

"As the inaugural Discovery Intern he'll shortly be jetting off to travel the globe for free, documenting his adventures for Discovery Channel's social media channels and soon-to-be launched blog, Heaps of Stuff," Sky said in a statement.

"The calibre of entries from Kiwis and Aussies was overwhelmingly strong and uncovered a wealth of untapped talent. It was no easy feat for the Discovery judges choosing a winner from the top five."
