Katy Perry gets real about the biggest 'challenge' she's faced since welcoming her baby girl
Katy Perry says sleeping is a "challenge" since welcoming her daughter.
The Never Worn White hitmaker gave birth to Daisy Dove - whom she has with her fiancé Orlando Bloom - in August, and has said she’s loving life as a new mother, minus the lack of sleep.
She said: "My daughter, she's such a gift, but there is sometimes a challenge concerning sleep. No matter how much support you have. But where am I going to get those six hours that I used to get? Where did it go? And it went, but I know how to get it back."
To help combat her sleepy state of mind, Katy has been using transcendental meditation (TM) to relax her body, and whenever she has a spare 20 minutes.
She added during a conversation with Hugh Jackman for the David Lynch Foundation's Meditate America virtual event: "There's been so many different ways TM has blessed me, but in this particular moment, as a new mother, I take 20 minutes."
Meanwhile, a source recently said Katy and Orlando are doing a "great job" balancing parenthood and their careers.
The insider explained: "Katy and Orlando are doing fantastic as a couple and are in parenthood bliss.
"They’re on the same page when it comes to making time for Daisy and their careers and doing a really great job at figuring everything out together. Daisy is their main priority right now."
The Daisies singer and the 43-year-old actor - who also has Flynn, nine, with ex-wife Miranda Kerr - have both been "hands-on" parents since the arrival of their baby daughter.
The source added: "They’ve both been so hands-on, and [they] know that it will always be a balancing act. Orlando thinks Katy is an amazing mom.
