It turns out you can still use some important iPhone features even if the battery is dead
ApplePay is super handy when you’ve accidentally left your wallet at home, or it’s just wedged at the bottom of your bag and you don’t have a free hand to rummage around for it.
But, it’s a little less handy when your phone has gone flat, right?
Wrong!
It turns out, that iPhones have a fancy feature that allows you to still use ApplePay – and a few other things – even when your phone has run out of battery.
Yes, our minds are just as blown as yours.
TikToker Anastasia Koss – who currently lives in Hong Kong - discovered this little trick and thankfully decided to share it with the rest of us.
She found that it worked for her bank card and her transport card. Wow!
“This only works for my Octopus [transport] card and bank card in Hong Kong. Not sure about other regions!!” Anastasia commented on her video.
Apple’s website reveals that it still supports "Express Mode" transitions if all your iPhone’s juice recently tapped out.
"If iOS isn’t running because iPhone needs to be charged, there may still be enough power in the battery to support Express Card transactions," Apple explains.
Sadly, the amazing hack only works on newer iPhone models and doesn’t work if you manually shut down your phone.
So next time you’re in a pinch and your iPhone is out of power, you may still be able to make that last-minute purchase and buy yourself a charger!
