According to some fascinating stats from Spotify, it turns out Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas is the queen of Christmas song for New Zealanders.
In the last few months, Kiwis have been kicking off the holiday season with more than 153,000 searches for the word ‘Xmas’ or ‘Christmas’.
There has also been a significant uptake in listening to Christmas-themed playlists with a 380 per cent increase on the Christmas Favourites list.
Aside from All I Want For Christmas, which sits at number one for Kiwis as their favourite Christmas song, also featured some other festive classics.
Last Christmas by Wham! came in second, while Michael Bublé’s It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas came in third.
Interestingly, Michael Bublé ranked first for New Zealander’s top artist in the Christmas Favourites.
