First look trailer for Kiwi Taika Waititi’s brand new 'Thor: Love and Thunder' movie

Calling all Marvel fans! It’s time to get your first look at the brand new Thor movie!

The very first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder just dropped and it looks like a heck of a lot of fun.

"The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace," Marvel reveals about the plot of the film. "But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. 

"To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. 

"Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late."

Alongside Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson and Taika Waititi - the cast of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Chris Pratt will also appear.

The movie is directed by none other than Kiwi director and actor Taika Waititi, who has worked on films such as Hunt For The Wilderpeople, JoJo Rabbit and the previous 2017 Thor flick, Thor: Ragnarok.

Fans won’t have to wait too much longer either with Thor: Love and Thunder set to hit cinemas around New Zealand on July 7, 2022.
