Bindi Irwin included late father in her wedding through touching portrait made by fan
Bindi Irwin's late father has been included in her wedding thanks so a beautiful portrait created by a Steve Irwin fan.
Taking to Instagram, the newlywed – who tied the know with Chandler Powell earlier this year - shared an illustration by The Monkey Brush that shows Bindi and Chandler on their wedding day, joined by her mother Terri, brother and an image of her late father Steve Irwin.
"To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die," Bindi wrote alongside the image, quoting Thomas Campbell.
So sweet!
Before receiving the physical artwork, Bindi shared how the heart-warming piece left her crying "happy tears".
"My family. Our wedding day. This artwork gave me happy tears. Thank you to ‘The Monkey Brush’ for creating such a beautiful piece, it means the world to me," Bindi wrote alongside the stunning artwork.
Bindi was moved so much by the illustration that she sent the artist, Debb Oliver – who goes by The Monkey Brush – a handwritten thank you letter.
"Dear Debora, Words can’t express how much your beautiful art piece means to our family. We can’t wait to see it in real life – thank you, thank you, thank you,” Bindi wrote in the card, which she also sent with some Irwin memorabilia. “I thought I’d send you some Australia Zoo goodies, hope you enjoy them. Love and Light, Bindi."
"This is all very surreal," Debb wrote about the card. "To have ‘a piece’ of the Irwins with me is really special. They are so generous, and I definitely wasn’t expecting any of this. I’ll really treasure these forever. Thank you again to everyone who helped my portrait get to them. Couldn’t have done it without your help!"
Sending more love, Bindi added in the comments of Debb’s post: “Words can’t describe how much your beautiful art of our wedding day means to me. Thank you so much. Sending all my love.
Awww, we love this!
