One driver's Facebook rant - "I'm not a taxi service, if you want a lift I expect money" - was cut short rather abruptly when a commenter pointed to a hole in his logic, writing: "That would make you a taxi service".
In another case, a switched-on mother responded to her child's accusation that she wasn't funny, and "don't make jokes" with the three-word destroyer: "I made you".
And it doesn't get much more savage than the person who commented on a John Lennon Facebook quote - "Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end" - with the retort: "He was shot in the end".
