Apparently people who drink this alcoholic beverage are more likely to be psychopaths
Light and refreshing - it's the ideal drink for any occasion.
But if you're someone who enjoys a gin and tonic we have bad news for you.
Yep, you could be a psychopath.
Well, that's according to a group of researchers in Austria.
A study, from Innsbruck University, discovered that people who enjoy a gin and tonic are often linked to a number of less than desirable traits.
These include sadism, narcissism, psychoticism, and Machiavellianism.
The study, which surveyed 953 people, asked individuals to rank a variety of different types of food and drink on a six-point scale.
They were then asked personality questions.
Those people who preferred gin and tonic also showed more antisocial tendencies.
Dr Christian Sagioglou and Dr Tobias Greitemeyer, who conducted the study, said: "The results confirmed the hypothesis that bitter taste preferences are positively associated with malevolent personality traits, with the most robust relation to everyday sadism and psychopathy".
It may be time to find a new drink of choice ...
