A Ship That Sunk In 1708 Has Been Found With £1 Billion Worth Of Cargo On Board

A ship wreck full of gold and jewels has reportedly been found at the bottom of the ocean. 

The San Jose Galleon allegedly has £1 billion worth of sunken cargo on board, that was lost over three hundred years ago!

Found off the coast of Cartagena, the ship had silver and gold coins , that were thought to have been lost in the Caribbean Sea along with the vessel in 1708. 

The president of Columbia, Juan Manuel Santos, tweeted about finding the wreck and is clearly pleased having done so as the content belongs to the South American country.

However, he may find himself in a legal stand off with the Sea Search Armada, who also claim ownership over the ship. 

Santos is set to give more details in a press conference today.
