72-Year-Old Woman Survives Nine Days In The Desert With Her Dog And Cat

Ann Charon Rodgers was traveling through Arizona’s White Mountains to visit family when she found herself in trouble: her hybrid car had run out of gas and charge, and she was stranded.

The 72-year-old stayed in her car that night, with her dog and her cat, but in the morning she found out there was no sign of life for kilometres.

Not only did she have to look after herself, she had to help her pets survive too.

She found the carcass of an elk in the sand; with white stones and sticks, she spelled out the word “Help” and pointed the skull toward the word.

Nine days after her car broke down, she was found!
