Watch Charlize Theron Star In The Trailer For 'Dark Places' From The Author Of Gone Girl

Following on the heels Gone Girl's success at the box office, Director Gilles Paquet-Brenner is bringing author Gillian Flynn's second novel preceding, 'Dark Places', to life.  

The cast features Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Chloe Grace Mortez, Christina Hendricks and Corey Stoll ('House of Cards').

The film is about  "A woman who survived the brutal killing of her family as a child is forced to confront the events of that day by a secret society obsessed with solving notorious crimes." Unlike 'Gone Girl', Gillian Flynn has not penned the film's screenplay.

It is released later this year.
