Unseen Photos of African-Born Freddie Mercury Show Life in India Before Stardom

Freddie Mercury was one of the most universally loved superstars of his time. Tragically he passed away in November of 1991.

But where did this champion come from? 

Farrokh Bulsara (his name at birth) was born in Zanzibar in 1946 before going to a boarding school in India when he was eight.

Now new pictures have shown the Queen front man as you've never seen him before from his early life growing up with his loving family.

The featured cup was for was for 'Best Achiever' at his boarding school, St Peter’s in Panchgani, India.

The pictures are among a series of photographs, some never released, to be included in a vinyl box set of Queen hits to celebrate the band, The Mirror reported.
