'Sound of Music' Child Star Passes Away at 73

Sound of Music star Charmian Carr has sadly passed away at the at of 73.

The actress, who played Liesl Von Trapp in the 1965 classic film, died on Saturday (September 17) after a battle with a rare form dementia.

Charmian was 21 at the time that The Sound of Music was filmed, where she famously sang “Sixteen Going on Seventeen.”

After filming the movie, she left the industry to start her own interior design business. She also went to write two books about the film, Forever Liesl and Letters to Liesl.
