Netflix's swoon-worthy series 'Virgin River' starring Kiwi actor will be your new addiction
If you haven’t started watching Netflix’s new swoon-worthy series Virgin River yet – you’re missing out!
The romantic drama – based on the best-selling book series by Robyn Carter - launched on the streaming service this month and stars New Zealand’s own heartthrob, Martin Henderson, who you may recognise from Shortland Street, Bride and Prejudice, and of course, Grey’s Anatomy.
Virgin River follows nurse practitioner Melinda, played by She’s the Man actress Alexandra Breckenridge, who moves from LA to the small town of Virgin River to escape her painful past.
There she meets the charming Jack (Henderson), the owner of the local bar and a former Marine. However, Mel’s transition to small-town living doesn’t go as smoothly as she expected and it’s not long until drama - and romance - ensues.
We love it!
The Kiwi actor recently took to Instagram to thank his fans for their positivity about the show.
"Thanks for all the positive feedback on Virgin River," Martin wrote alongside a scene photo from the show. "Stoked you like it so much. But apparently not as much as my Mum!! Anyone else who likes a bit of wholesome romance and small-town gossip, check it out now on Netflix."
Aww, how sweet is that?
What’s more, is Virgin River – which also stars Vampire Diaries actor Daniel Gillies - who also happens to be a Kiwi - Smallville star Annette O’Toole and The West Wing star Tim Matheson - has reportedly already been renewed for a second season in 2020! Which will be very exciting news for those already addicted.
Virgin River is available to stream now on Netflix.
