Lorde's ugly Christmas jumper is too cute

Lorde is home for the holidays - and she's getting into the festive spirit in a major way.

The Kiwi pop star posted a photo to Instagram of her Christmas getup - including a santa hat and a green Christmas jumper adorned with festive birds.

She wrote: "Santa's ridiculously eager yet slightly dishevelled acquaintance is home for the holidays!"

The 20-year-old has been in America putting the finishing touches on her as-yet untitled second album, the follow-up to her chart-topping debut Pure Heroine.

Her last update on the record came in November when she told fans they'd have to wait a little longer.

"I want nothing more than to spill my guts RIGHT NOW about the whole thing - I want you to see the album cover, pore over the lyrics (the best I've written in my life), touch the merch, experience the live show. I can hardly stop myself from typing out the name. I just need to keep working a while longer to make it as good as it can be," she wrote on Facebook.

"You'll have to hold on. The big day is not tomorrow, or even next month realistically, but soon. I know you understand."
