Jim Carrey shocks fans looking unrecognisable in Easter selfie

Jim Carrey left fans shocked after he posted a rare picture on Twitter.

The 55-year-old actor took to the social media site to share a photo of him holding a cute bunny over the Easter holiday weekend, but it was his beard that stole all the attention.

Jim looked unrecognisable as he captioned the pic: “Happy Easter or Passover or whatever reason you can find to feel warm and fuzzy. =(:•}”

Sporting long hair and a huge grey beard, fans were quick to comment on his change in appearance.

One wrote, “I HAD TO LOOK AT THIS PICTURE FOR FIVE MINUTES BEFORE MY BRAIN UNDERSTOOD THAT THIS WAS JIM CARREY.”

Another wrote, "Me toooo!!! I even read his name and STILL needed 5 minutes to connect the dots".

“I LEGIT THOUGHT IT WAS ROBIN WILLIAMS FOR 10 WHOLE SECONDS", said one fan.

“I went on google and searched Jim Carrey 2017 I legitimately didn’t believe he had a beard hahahaha”, said another user.

Another tweeted in reply: "I can't recognise you man..."

It has been a tough couple of years for Jim, who found himself in the public eye a lot following the death of his ex-girlfriend Cathriona White.

While Jim was left distraught when his on-and-off girlfriend took her own life, he was soon hit with a lawsuit by her mother and her ex-husband being blamed for her unexpected death.

In October, Brigid Sweetman filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Jim, claiming he gave her daughter STD's during their relationship.

In December, Jim filed legal documents demanding that the court dismiss the lawsuit, and said the allegations were for the purpose of harassing, embarrassing and humiliating him.
