Hot Fuzz actor Simon Pegg is totally ripped now!

If you're a British comedy fan, you will definitely know the lovable Simon Pegg.

But you probably don't remember him looking like this ...

Taking a page out of the Christian Bale Handbook for dramatic body transformations, the 49-year-old actor has undergone a radical physical transformation for his role in the upcoming thriller Inheritance - and we almost didn't recognise him!

Surprising fans on social media over the weekend, Pegg showed off his extreme weight loss revealing it took six months to get himself ready for the film.

Simon - who you'd remember from Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, Run Fatboy Run and the Mission: Impossible films - worked with personal trainer Nick Lower to go from 78kg to 69kg, while dropping his body fat from 12 per cent to just eight per cent.

Posting on Instagram, Lower shared a photo of Pegg's transformation alongside the caption: "The brief for this role was lean, VERY lean. It required a specific body shape & look."

Needless to say, his hard work has paid off!

Inheritance is described as a drama-thriller about a wealthy father who dies, leaving his wife and daughter "a shocking secret inheritance that threatens to unravel and destroy their lives."
