Among the seriousness of this US Presidential Election, Saturday Night Live has kept us all entertained with some light-hearted mockery of the entire campaign.
With incredible performances by Kate McKinnon as Hillary Clinton and Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump, the pair have summed up each Presidential Debate with a spoof-filled script, taking the mickey out of Trump and Clinton themselves.
But their finale saw the end to their feud, when Alec Baldwin broke character calling for a verbal ceasefire during Saturday night’s show.
Of course, before that happened the two traded verbal blows, which mainly poked fun at the contentious FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails (as well as the Donald’s love affair with the FBI, Putin and the KKK).
But things took an unexpected turn (6.50s)!
“When I’m elected, I will assign a special prosecutor,” Trump begins to rant, but trails off.
“I’m sorry, Kate. I just hate yelling all this stuff at you like this,” Baldwin says, breaking character and addressing McKinnon directly.
The pair then 'make up', leaving the stage as a united front and appearing in Times Square to celebrate.
