A body has been recovered from the Waikato River this morning.
Police were called to the river near Comries Ave this morning after a report from the public of a potential body being sighted in the water.
They have just confirmed that a body has been found and identification is underway.
"The operation has necessitated a closure of the walkway on the east side of the Waikato River," said Senior Sergeant Damion Rangitutia.
