Dr Anna Martin's Drive-Thru Therapy
Dr Anna Martin, PhD
Anna is a clinical therapist who works with children, adolescent, adults and couples experiencing a variety of issues.
Anna also specialises in working with parents and children, particularly around attachment, behaviour and discipline and was awarded her PhD from the University of Auckland. She is one of the only people in New Zealand who has completed research focusing specifically on discipline and the parent/child relationship. Â
Anna’s PhD thesis involved undertaking her own research that explored discipline and the parent/child relationship and the well-being of the child. Her thesis also investigated some of the current mainstream discipline methods that are widely used by parents and considered the components needed to achieve constructive outcomes for both the parent and child and where things can go wrong.   Â
Anna has published articles on areas relating to attachment, behaviour and discipline and the parent/child relationship and has been a presenter at seminars and workshops around the country. For a number of years, Anna was on the expert panel for the largest and popular parenting magazine, Littlies, and has also been a guest on TVNZ and TV3 discussing parenting topics.
Anna’s new book Listen to Me – Taking the conflict out of child discipline published by Penguin Random House is out in June 2019.
