Last week I got to attend a launch for the new exhibition at Auckland Museum - Volume: Making Music in Aotearoa.
It is a fantastic, interactive showcase of the history of all things Kiwi music and a real task for the curators to make decisions on what, or what not, to include.
It's a gallery of photos, sound, films, beautiful displays of costumes, instruments, letters and lyrics and takes you for a massive walk down memory lane as well as reflecting on our future in music.
So many of our kiwi muso's have provided us with the soundtrack to our lives and it's all touched on in this exhibition.
I even pretended to be the bass guitarist for a band at the pub with mosh pit crowd on the big screen ha! Yep you get to touch and be part of some of the exhibition too.
Here's my chat with Esther, the exhibition developer from Auckland Museum, on being part of this journey.
Make sure you book some time to Auckland to check it out if you're not up here. If you are....get in there!!
