To celebrate NZ Music Month Estelle is joined each week by a different kiwi artist to share the stories behind some of their biggest tunes.

Kiwi singer-songwriter Jamie McDell has shared the stories behind three of her songs, including her latest single Poor Boy from her new self titled album.

For Jimoe, it's a journey through doubting the people you surround yourself with, writing as a disgruntled teenager and being inspired by her Dad and the decisions he made through his career that changed up the family's journey and experiences as Jamie grew up.

She also shared the special details of her wedding dress, opens up about playing the piano at the NZ Music Awards and what it has been like growing up as a muso.
