Mariah Carey New Years Eve performance fail

Technical difficulties? Couldn't hear? She even says "We didn't have a check for this song, so we'll just sing."

Mariah Carey was lined up as the final act for ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest" but after singing Auld Lang Syne her performance started to fall apart.

According to the show producers everything was working just fine technically so they can't comment on what her nontechnical issues were.

Apparently there had been concerns around Mariah turning up to perform and issues of her being quite late with extra people being hired just to make sure she showed face.

Perhaps after this performance they'll wish she hadn't?

Mariah has offered up an apology, tweeting "Last night's situation was beyond my control. I apologize to all that showed up, you know that I would never want to disappoint you."
