But it turns out there is a rather bizarre fact about the 1939 film that may leave you feeling quite disturbed.

It turns out that the Cowardly Lion’s costume was made using actual lion skin and fur.

Um, what?!

The costume was worn by actor Bert Lahr – which has previously sold at auction for more than $3 million - and weighed more than 27kgs.
