Armed Man Captured By Police in Hawke's Bay

Police responded to an incident in Central Hawkes Bay today at approximately 1pm in which it was reported a man allegedly presented a firearm at another person and then was at large with two firearms.

Cordons were put in place in the area of State Highway 2 between Waipukurau and Takapau.

The Armed Offenders’ Squad and Police Negotiating Team were deployed.

The 57 year-old man from Hawkes Bay was located by Police and taken into custody by members of the Armed Offenders’ Squad without incident.
