Accident at Taradale Primary School UPDATE

A Napier boy found hanging from a window at Taradale Primary School is still fighting for his life in Starship Hospital.

The nine year old was critically injured after he jumped out a window and his shirt got caught during lunch yesterday.

He was flown to Starship Hospital yesterday afternoon and remains in an induced coma.

Parents of students at the school have been told the boy was found unconscious by teachers and needed to be resuscitated by ambulance staff.

Police and the Ministry of Education are investigating the incident.

Victim support services are being offered to a group of students who witnessed the accident.
