Mitch James opens up to Callum & P about his decision to quit music

Kiwi singer Mitch James recently joined Callum and P to discuss the future of his music career, revealing his difficult decision to step away from the industry after 11 years.

This announcement has taken many fans by surprise. Kiwis will fondly remember his journey, from the rise of his hit single 21 to the release of his final track, Beautiful Stranger.

“Unfortunately the music industry is a very crazy and sometimes evil place,” James shared. “The industry has made it very hard for me to make a living and succeed in it.”

Despite the bittersweet news, James still remains focused on his fans. “To the people who cared and made my career what it is - the fans who show up to shows and listen to music - I just want to make sure I'm leaving on a high for them,” he said.

Fans will be pleased to know that he has new songs set to be released in November, providing a fitting conclusion to an inspiring career and journey.

As one chapter closes, another begins. James is pursuing new dreams, he’s keeping the details under wraps for now, promising more information in February.
