Mental Health Awareness Week: Mike Puru shares how his furry friend helps his mental wellbeing
This week it’s Mental Health Awareness Week, so we’re sharing some of the little things we do in our daily lives that help boost our mental wellbeing.
For Mike Puru, he finds getting out and about with his incredibly adorable furry friend Rufus is a huge help, especially when they’re both starting to not 100 per cent.
"When Rufus (my dog) shows signs of needing a boost from the couch, I take him and myself for a walk around the streets," Mike says.
"He smells the other dog's pee, smell people's dinner and the odd plant and we both feel better."
So not only does Mike end up feeling great, but so does Rufus! Win-win!
Looking after our own mental health is one of the best things we can do for ourselves.
