Jono, Ben and How to Dad smash 24-hour handball marathon goal for KidsCan

The Hits radio hosts Jono Pryor and Ben Boyce, along with YouTube’s How to Dad Jordan Watson, successfully completed their 24-hour handball challenge to support KidsCan.

Their marathon effort, which started at 8 am on Thursday and concluded at 8 am this morning, exceeded expectations by raising more than $470,000, surpassing their initial goal of $350,000 for the charity.

Throughout the challenge, Jono, Ben, and Jordan - who also co-hosts the NZME podcast The Parenting Hangover with Clint Roberts - were joined by several Kiwi celebrities, including mental health advocate Jazz Thornton and track and field athlete Eliza McCartney, who took turns as the fourth player alongside the trio.

Other stars such as fellow Hits radio host Matty McLean, Art Green, Ganesh Raj, Torrell Tafa, Erin Simpson, ZM’s Clint Roberts and drag Queens Kita Mean and Rita Menu also joined the handball fun.

Despite the gruelling schedule that included a six-minute rest break every hour, the team remained determined, fuelled by their commitment to helping Kiwi kids in need.

Jono expressed gratitude to everyone who supported the cause, telling the NZ Herald, "Knowing it’s all for KidsCan, it gives us that extra push."
