Jason Momoa reveals his New Zealand love affair to Jono & Ben

When it comes to living the Kiwi life, Hollywood heartthrob Jason Momoa is all in.

The action star, known for his roles in blockbuster films like Aquaman and his latest flick Fast X, sat down with Jono and Ben from The Hits Breakfast to talk about his love affair with New Zealand.

Momoa is currently in New Zealand to film Chief of War, an exciting new series for Apple TV+, but it’s clear Momoa's connection to the country runs deeper than just work.

"I'm going to live here. This is my life. I love it," Momoa declared.

As an outdoorsman, Momoa couldn't contain his excitement about the natural wonders New Zealand has to offer. He spoke passionately about the beauty of the South Island, and his love for climbing, confessing he's explored the length of the country multiple times.

But it's not just the great outdoors that has Momoa smitten. He expressed his deep appreciation for Aotearoa’s rich Māori culture and the embrace of indigenous traditions. Momoa praised the country for its commitment to supporting indigenous films, something he found lacking in his native Hawaii. He was genuinely moved by the pride and resilience of the Māori people.

And let's not forget about the All Blacks, New Zealand's legendary rugby team. Momoa's admiration for these sporting heroes was evident as he spoke about former All Black captain Tana Umaga, whom he considers an idol.

In fact, Momoa proudly wears his All Blacks t-shirt and even invited some of the team members to join him in Chief of War

Throughout the conversation, Momoa's infectious energy and good humor were on full display.

The action star even left Ben with a very special gift at the end of the interview.
