Christopher Luxon tells Jono & Ben how it feels to be NZ's new Prime Minister

Jono and Ben caught up with New Zealand's brand new Prime Minister-elect, Christopher Luxon, who opened up about his new role, his election journey, and his vision for the country.

When asked about the moment he realised he was now the Prime Minister, Luxon admitted it felt "surreal" but that the gravity of the new role had been "sinking in quickly." He confessed, he had "passed the job interview" and was ready to tackle the responsibilities.

Jono & Ben spoke about their previous pranks with Luxon, and the new PM said he hopes the humorous escapades on the show continue. "We have to take the job very seriously, but we don't have to take ourselves that seriously," he noted.

In terms of transitioning to his new role, Luxon mentioned that he will be meeting with new MPs and preparing for a smooth shift between governments. He also jokingly promised that New Zealand wouldn't lose a Rugby World Cup under National leadership.

Jokingly, Luxon was asked about an ominous-looking campaign photo from years ago. He suspected it might have been doctored and hinted at a unique strategy by his political opponents.

Despite the challenges ahead, Luxon expressed his commitment to a better New Zealand. He emphasized his goal of being a Prime Minister for all, pledging to make tough decisions and move the country forward.
