Originally a place of worship, this empty church in Chicago was recently given a brand new lease on life and converted in a stunning a family home.
Due to the size of the original structure (it has 25ft high ceilings) 6 impressive bathrooms and 7 spacious bedrooms are just part of the conversion which was overseen by Linc Thelen Design and Scrafano Architects.
Whilst the inside of the former church was gutted, its new owners opted to pay tribute to the past by keeping the magnificent stained-glass windows and also the iconic bell tower. The rest of the house from the lounge to the kitchen and the lobby to the dining room is the perfect union of clean lines, soft tones and modern finishes.
Throughout it all however, the stained-glass windows remain the focal point adding a dash of vibrant yellow and warm colours to the gentle tones within.
