Twenty years ago today the television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer aired for the very first time.

Starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Alyson Hannigan and David Boreanaz the series about a high school girl with super human strength destined to hunt vampires and other evil supernatural beings ran for seven season and grew a massive cult following.
