THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

Tomorrow Uber is joining forces with Lewis Road Creamery to deliver ice cream to your door. For free.

Kiwis in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch will be the first in the world to score free tubs of ice cream. And it's a yet-to-be-revealed, one-day-only flavour made exclusively for the event which takes place in 69 cities worldwide.

So how do you get yours? By signing up to Uber tomorrow between 11am and 5pm and using the code ICECREAMNZ you'll be delivered two 120ml tubs.

If you already have the app, it'll cost you $20. But it's for a good cause: Lewis Road Creamery has teamed up with the Eat My Lunch programme which provides free lunches to children in need.

For a special back-to-school treat, a tub of ice cream will be delivered to a child for every one sold via tomorrow's Uber initiative.

Lewis Road Creamery founder Peter Cullinane says the one-day-only ice cream flavour won't be available anywhere else.

How Uber ice cream works:

1. If you live in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch open the Uber app tomorrow, between 11am and 5pm.
2. Slide over to the ICECREAM option, set your location and click request.
3. Watch your car head towards you on the map and meet them on the street to collect your ice cream.
