Pedestrian dead after being hit by train at Glen Innes station

Police have confirmed a pedestrian is dead after being hit by a train in Auckland this morning.

It happened at Glen Innes, shortly before seven o'clock.

A witness has told us someone was walking across the rails when the warning lights were on.

Commuters in the area should expect delays.

Police are investigating and aren't releasing any further information at this stage.
