Missing Timaru woman Nicole Smith has been found safe on a rural road west of Timaru.
Police said she was picked up by a member of the public at 5am today on a rural road 20kms west of Timaru.
She was taken to Timaru Police Station and is receiving support.
Just before 7am, with the assistance of the Armed Offenders Squad, a 35-year-old Timaru man was arrested without incident for kidnapping and breach of a protection order.
"We are pleased there has been a resolution following our appeal yesterday. Our investigation will continue," said Detective Inspector Darryl Sweeney.
"The community played an important role in this appeal. Canterbury Police would like to thank them for their support," he said.
