A Lotto player will be celebrating just a little bit more this Christmas after becoming $15 million richer thanks to a winning Powerball ticket.
The ticket-holder also made history by becoming the first player to ever win the Powerball jackpot on a ticket sold in Porirua, north of Wellington.
The winning ticket was sold at Eastside Four Square and Lotto in Porirua East and is made up of $15 million from Powerball First Division and $250,000 from Lotto First Division. This is the 12th time this year that the Powerball jackpot has been won.
Three lucky Lotto players are also celebrating tonight after each winning $250,000 with Lotto First Division. One of those winning tickets was also sold at Eastside Four Square and Lotto in Porirua East and the other two were sold at Corner Cardz N Magz in Whangarei and Pak'n Save Clarence Street in Hamilton.
Lotto has advised anyone who bought their ticket from the above store to write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately because they could also be in for a big win.
