After winning a place on Rita Ora's team on season 12 of The Voice Australia, Scottish-born Kiwi Nyree Huyser has hit the ground running by releasing her debut original single, 'By The River.'

This beautiful piano ballad is a song about finding yourself in a dark place, with a desire to break free from it and crying out for help.

The world can be a difficult and often saddening place, this song is about escape - to the river, to a safe space, to family, to God, to wherever speaks to you best in times of trouble.

Featuring Nyree's incredible powerhouse vocals that her fans know and love, 'By The River' was recorded live in one take.

The Voice Australia is currently airing in New Zealand at 7.30pm every weekend on TV2.
