Lanterns - Benny Tipene

Armed with an acoustic guitar, a cheeky smile and charisma, humor and soul to full effect, Benny Tipene has quickly become a firm kiwi favourite since coming into the spotlight in 2013.

The 23 year old multi-instrumentalist spent his early years in Palmerston North. He initially taught himself the piano in order to learn ‘Let It Be’ as a tribute to his grandmother. The Beatles were one of many influences that sound-tracked his youth, alongside Nelly, Biggie, Tupac and Bone Thugs.
