Award-winning Kiwi musician and songwriter Jeremy Redmore is set to release his first solo single, ‘Bad Philosophy’.
The single is the first release under Redmore’s own record label, Redmore Books, through a license deal with Warner Music New Zealand.
Warner Music New Zealand General Manager, Phil Howling, says “Warner Music New Zealand is very excited to be working with Jeremy Redmore on his forthcoming debut solo album. Jeremy has a long-standing relationship with Warner Music which we are honoured to continue.”
Redmore shot to fame as the frontman of acclaimed rock act Midnight Youth who released their debut album THE BRAVE DON’T RUN in 2009, (debuted at #2 on the New Zealand Top 40 Album Chart and achieved Platinum certification). A year after Midnight Youth released their second album, WORLD COMES CALLING, Redmore announced that he was leaving the band to explore a raw and much more personal musical journey.
‘Bad Philosophy’, the lead single from Jeremy Redmore’s self-produced album (which will be released later this year), offers a long-awaited first peak at what became of Redmore’s bold change, both in sound and tone, which stands apart from any of his former musical offerings.
Redmore reflects, “‘Bad Philosophy’ possesses a new sound and a new story that I’ve never had the chance to explore previously through my music. It’s light-hearted and fun, and a little bit cheeky, but it has a heart and a soul too. I can’t wait for fans to hear it.”
