It's mid-winter and you've had an absolutely long day, the printer had broken down and nothing seemed to go right, plus now it's raining! You've just got home and the best way for you to warm up and relax is by having a nice, long, hot shower because you're an adult and you deserve it!
Oh wow! What a feeling! The best shower you've had and it's extra hot so you decide to take more time in there, little did you know how much damage your skin is taking. Literally, can life just chill, we wanna eat chips and lollies all the time but we can't because that leads to health issues now we can't even have a long shower without it being bad for us.
According to skin specialists, that steaming hot shower can actually cause skin inflammation, redness, itchiness and peeling, plus it puts your natural balance of moisture all out of whack. Oh and it gets worse if you have eczema or Psoriasis because this can amplify things.
The ideal length for a good healthy shower is roughly 5 minutes and the temperature shouldn't stray above 43 degrees celsius, but hey rules are meant to be broken from time to time...right?
